KUALA LUMPUR: Police crippled an online gambling ring after raiding an apartment in Mont Kiara.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said a team from Brickfields CID raided the premises around 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 6th.

“We arrested four men and two women between the ages of 20 and 30, all of them Chinese nationals.

“We also confiscated three laptops, 10 cell phones, three mice, a keyboard, three USB modems and three modems during the raid,” he said in a statement on Sunday (February 7).

He said research found the syndicate provided online gambling services for customers in China.

“We have classified the case under Section 4 (1) (g) of the Common Gaming Houses Act and Section 39 (b) and Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act of 1963.

“We advise the public not to participate in such activities,” he said, adding that tough measures would be taken against those who break the law.
