Google Play has updated its guidelines to allow real money gambling and betting apps, related ads and daily fantasy sports apps in 15 new countries. – India is not on that list.

Previously, gambling was limited to just four countries, namely Brazil, Ireland, France and the UK.

The new guidelines, which come into effect on March 1, include the USA, Australia, Japan, Germany and eleven other countries with a total of 19 countries.

“We’re updating our real money gambling and competition guidelines to help more developers around the world build sustainable businesses in a way that will keep consumers safe,” Google said in a blog post.

After developers have completed the application process and followed the rules, regulations and guidelines in their countries, they can launch online casino games, lotteries, sports betting and daily fantasy sports.

Google does not allow any developer to publish these games. Aside from completing the application form, the developer must have a valid gambling license for each country or state / territory in which the app is distributed.

It should also prevent underage users from using the app, it should be free to download and install, and information about responsible gambling should be clearly displayed.

In India, however, gambling has been scrutinized, which is why several states have banned these apps. Recently, Paytm and Paytm First Games were temporarily banned for allegedly allowing sports betting and daily fantasy sports.
