GRANBURY (CBSDFW.COM) – Hood County Sheriff’s Office investigators raided two separate gambling operations over the weekend, confiscating a total of 88 line machines and turning them off.

“Gambling in the state of Texas is illegal and will not be tolerated in Hood County. They were a safe place for outlaws and I am pleased with the results of this investigation, ”said Roger Deeds, Hood County Sheriff.

A gambling site was on the 2600 block of West Hwy. 377 and the second was on the 6000 block on Fall Creek Hwy.

Sheriff Deeds said the gambling establishments in question facilitated other criminal activities such as the sale of illegal drugs and stolen property.

The case is still being investigated and the persons responsible for operating the gaming facilities are pending.
