    The two measurements you need to find your correct sports bra size are your under bust and your over bust. Your underbust measurement gives your band size and your overbust your cup size. Put the two together and hey presto – your bra size!

    To measure your underbust, simply run your tape measure around your chest and measure horizontally around your rib cage where your bra band normally sits. Make sure the tape is not too tight. As a rule of thumb, you should be able to put two fingers under it.

    To find your over-breast, slide the tape up and do the same around the fullest part of your breasts (usually over your nipples). It is best to take this measurement with a non-padded everyday bra. For the most accurate results, consult a bra friend for help with the band.

  2. Get the right support

    Check for possible friction points. Move in as many different directions as you can. Swing your arms. Twist. You shouldn’t feel any points that could potentially rub. The bra itself shouldn’t move either. If so, it can result in a long training session.

    Check the straps. Once you get the correct length you should be able to put two fingers under each strap. If they’re too tight, they can dig in. If they’re too loose, they can slip.

    Check the band. You should be able to breathe deeply and comfortably. Do the two-finger test under the tape again. Remember that 80% of your sports bra’s support comes from the band. So expect it to be tighter than your everyday bra.

    Check the cups. Your breasts should be completely contained in the cups. If your cup overflows, it might be too small. If there are wrinkles in the cup, they may be too big.

    Finally, do the jump test. The best way to check the bra support is to jump up and down. Your breasts should feel supported and secure. If there’s too much movement, look for a style with a higher impact.
