Roma announced today that they have signed an agreement with AYX, Asia’s leading sports data and entertainment company.
AYX’s branding will be distributed via Asian channels during the club’s home games thanks to the LED pitch-side displays.
With the aim of helping to achieve its increasingly ambitious goals in the Asian market, the agreement will also provide AYX with strategic tools such as the use of the AS Roma brand for promotions on digital platforms and social media.
“It is a great pleasure to have AYX as our new partner,” said Giorgio Brambilla, Commercial Director of AS Roma, on the club’s official website.
“This partnership is in line with the ambitions of the club and I firmly believe that both brands can further develop their business strategies on an international level. Asia has always been of particular interest to Roma and AYX is the ideal partner to help us grow. “
Steven Chang, Chief Marketing Officer of AYX, added: “This partnership is important to both brands and brings together passionate Roma fans and millions of AYX users.
“It is extremely positive that our AS Roma brand is associated with all of its history and significance, and I firmly believe that this partnership is an important step in our growth strategy.
“As AYX’s presence in Asia continues to grow, this new partnership opens up new opportunities for strategic development and a mutual win-win situation, and ushers in a new era for sports games and entertainment.”
The news is an important boost for the Roma after they were forced to end their sponsorship at Betfair in the summer of 2019 due to the Italian “Decreto Dignita” (Decree of Dignity) that prevented clubs from promoting gambling.
The Giallorossi lost € 5m per season after being forced to close the deal with Betfair and desperately looking for additional sponsors.
